Services

Poisons Permits

iEMS will provide a poisons permit as part of our wider scope of services. The Poison Permit is issued by the WA Department of Health and is valid for medications in Schedules 2,3,4 and 8 and for unscheduled medications.

iEMS enjoys an excellent working relationship with the Pharmaceutical Services Branch of the WA Department of Health.

Clinical Practice Guidelines

iEMS provides evidence-based, best practice Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG’s) for use by our clients. Far from being a static document, iEMS regularly reviews the CPG’s, to ensure that our clinical practice meets our core values.

Our Clinical Practice Guidelines and Primary Health Care Guidelines are industry leading and unrivalled by our competition. Our CPG’s are structured around the four main levels of out-of-hospital health care practice:

  • Grade 1 – First Responder
  • Grade 2 – Industrial Medic
  • Grade 3 – Paramedic / Registered Nurse
  • Grade 4 – Intensive Care Paramedic / Clinical Nurse Specialist

These CPG’s set the benchmark of service for your staff. The ability to read and learn CPG’s is paramount to patient safety and efficient health care delivery. Your staff are empowered to initiate treatments and provide medications up to their level of authority.

Where a situation is outside of their scope of practice, iEMS are available 24 hours.

Medical Consultations

iEMS provides a 24 hour clinical consultation service to our clients. Calls are initially triaged by one of our experienced Paramedics. With an extended scope-of-practice, our Paramedics are able to manage most consultations.

Should the situation be more critical, the consultation is escalated to our Emergency Medicine Specialist. Holding a Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine ensures that you are consulting with the best in the business.

We provide our consultations across several IT platforms including standard telephone consultations. We also provide video consultations over Apple FaceTime or Skype depending on your IT capabilities.

iEMS Consultants are industry experienced with proven hands-on experience in the provision of out of hospital health care in remote and challenging environments. In fact, all of our consultants are industry experienced in mining, which means we understand the challenges and issues with providing clinical care in such an environment.  Our consultants are committed to membership of relevant peak professional bodies and these memberships/fellowhips  include:

  • Paramedics Australasia
  • Australian College of Emergency Medicine
  • Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
  • Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists
  • Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine
  • American College of Emergency Physcians
